Shake well before use, apply thoroughly to exposed skin and reapply as needed.
What ingredients are in PureCin?
PureCin contains just two ingredients:
Purified water and cinnamon leaf oil.
There is no DEET, alcohol or artificial fragrance added to the formula.
What is cinnamon leaf oil?
Cinnamon leaf oil is an essential oil derived from the leaves of the cinnamon tree.
It has a naturally warm, spicy botanical aroma and contains naturally occurring aromatic compounds including eugenol.
PureCin uses cinnamon leaf oil sourced from Sri Lanka as the key ingredient in our insect deterrent.
Why does PureCin use cinnamon leaf oil?
PureCin uses cinnamon leaf oil as its insect-deterring ingredient because its naturally strong aromatic compounds can be unpleasant to insects.
It also gives PureCin its distinctive botanical scent without needing an artificial fragrance.
Is PureCin a natural insect repellent?
PureCin is a natural insect deterrent made from purified water and cinnamon leaf oil.
It contains no DEET, alcohol or artificial fragrance.
We describe PureCin as an insect deterrent rather than making claims that every insect will be prevented from landing or biting.
Does PureCin contain DEET?
No. PureCin is completely DEET-free.
PureCin uses cinnamon leaf oil rather than DEET as its insect-deterring ingredient.
Does PureCin contain alcohol?
No. PureCin contains no alcohol.
Its formula is based on purified water and cinnamon leaf oil.
Does PureCin contain artificial fragrance?
No. PureCin contains no added artificial fragrance.
The scent you smell comes naturally from the cinnamon leaf oil itself.
Is PureCin vegan?
Yes. PureCin is plant-based and vegan, with no animal-derived ingredients.
PureCin is also not tested on animals.
Why do I need to shake PureCin before using it?
PureCin must be shaken well before every use because cinnamon leaf oil and water naturally separate.
We deliberately keep the formula simple rather than adding ingredients purely to keep the oil permanently suspended.
Separation in the bottle is therefore completely normal and does not mean there is anything wrong with your PureCin.
Give it a really good shake before spraying.
How do I use PureCin?
Shake PureCin thoroughly before every application.
Spray evenly onto exposed skin and spread if required.
Avoid your eyes, mouth, broken or irritated skin and other sensitive areas.
Reapply as needed, particularly after swimming, heavy sweating or extended periods outdoors.
How often should I reapply PureCin?
PureCin should be reapplied as needed.
How frequently you need to apply it can depend on insect activity, weather, your environment and what you are doing.
Swimming, heavy sweating and extended periods outdoors may mean more frequent application is required.
Is PureCin suitable for sensitive skin?
Cinnamon leaf oil may cause warmth, tingling or irritation for some people.
We recommend doing a small patch test before your first full application, particularly if you have sensitive skin.
Stop using PureCin if irritation occurs.
Why does PureCin sometimes feel warm or tingly?
Cinnamon leaf oil can naturally produce a warming or tingling sensation on the skin.
A mild sensation can occur because of the naturally active compounds within cinnamon leaf oil.
If the sensation becomes uncomfortable or you experience redness or irritation, wash the area with soap and water and discontinue use.
Can children use PureCin?
PureCin is not recommended for infants under 12 months.
For older children, PureCin should be applied by an adult. Always do a test first. Avoid applying it to children's hands, face, eyes, mouth or broken or irritated skin.
Can I use PureCin while pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend checking with your healthcare professional before using products containing essential oils, including cinnamon leaf oil.
Can I spray PureCin onto clothing?
PureCin is primarily designed as an insect deterrent body spray for exposed skin.
Because cinnamon leaf oil is an oil, avoid spraying it directly onto delicate, light-coloured or absorbent fabrics as staining may occur.
What should I do if PureCin gets in my eyes?
Rinse your eyes immediately with plenty of clean water.
If irritation continues, seek medical advice.
How should I store PureCin?
Store PureCin upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
Keep it out of reach of children.
Natural separation of the cinnamon leaf oil and water during storage is normal. Shake thoroughly before use.
